This establishment provides a great tour of their small batch production of official parmigiano reggiano. They only make 18 wheels a day meaning they're very small and personable to interact with. You'll get to experience everything from production (morning tour only) to the magnificently smelling aging room. They also have a super easy location to reach in Parma! There is a small shop in the front that sells their cheese, balsamic, and meats among other items.

Very informative tour of a Parmigiano Reggiano production process. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and took time to answer questions. The group was perhaps a little bit too big so in some bits it was hard to hear what the guide was saying over the loud machinery, especially if there were other more pushy tourists in front of you and you couldn't exactly see what was going on - a smaller group would have been better and perhaps the guide could be more mindful about making sure everyone gets an opportunity to participate in the tour. Definitely worth a visit though!

This was an excellent experience. It is a small Parm cheese factory and we were able to stand on the factory floor as the workers went about their tasks. While watching the workers our guide spent an extensive amount of time explaining what we were seeing and answering our questions. The workers' passion for the subject was apparent.

Caseificio Ugolotti has, for the past 3 consecutive years, won the prestigious TripAdvisor’s Choice award, bestowed by the internet’s second most famous owl mascot on locations deemed delicious enough by the hordes of American tourists that use it. I’m happy to say that it met and exceeded every expectation I had. The tour was fantastic; my family and I were treated to rooms stacked high with enough Parmigiano Reggiano to make any vegan run for the hills. After a tasting of various aged specimens of the cheese, we ordered a meal. Despite the server speaking a total of 3 words of English, we got exactly what we asked for, and it didn’t disappoint. 5 stars isn’t enough to describe how much we loved the meal; it beat all of the other tour-offering, family-run businesses that we had found, mostly because we hadn’t found any others. Rude and impatient assistants, not friendly to foreigners. They seemed like they want to close the place being super nervous. They were impolite like decide what you want and made theatrical moves like they are nonsense.... We understood the kitchen was closed but the matter they behaved was not the way you expect it from a place with such a background! So whether you know exactly what you want to order here or choose another place . ;)))
